oils and acrylic's

HI! I was reading an articel on painting tips and it stated that you where not supposd to paint with acrylics over top of oilpaint, but you can paint with oilpaint on top of acrylics. i have done both. i often find my self starting a painting in oils and then switching over to acrylics b/c i am crazy like that. i have only had 1 prob with painting acrylics over oils. so i was wondering if you fine people know if its a bad thing that im doing this? plz help.
